A barrel-aged quince brandy from Austria

The quince is among those cultivated plants that, in recent decades, have only occasionally been found in local orchards. This is a great pity because this late-ripening fruit can be used to produce an exceptionally tasty brandy.

For this 333 Brandy, we process both apple and pear quinces. This allows us to use the best properties of both varieties, which differ mainly in shape but also in aroma and consistency. Before mashing, it is essential to remove the fine fuzz on the skin of the fruits as well as the core; otherwise, the brandy would have a bitter aftertaste. The two- to three-fold Hafele distillation process produces a highly aromatic distillate, which is then matured for several years in stoneware containers.

Full-bodied fruit flavour

When ready for consumption, our barrel-aged Quince Brandy has characteristic, soft fruity notes with slightly citrusy tones. It is particularly complex on the palate, with spicy to slightly grassy notes. The finish is long-lasting, fresh and smooth – a full-bodied, fruity taste experience.
