The Williams Pear Brandy from Austria
Pure and unmistakable: this delicious speciality is made of the most exquisite fruits, using the finest Austrian distillation skills. The Hafele Brandies 333 are typified by a strong character and intense fruit notes, and Williams Pear Brandy is certainly one of the most popular. The product of the consummate art of distillation, a great deal of skill and experience is required to bring the special aroma of this fruit into the bottle.
Before beginning the production process, we check the quality and degree of ripeness of the fruit. Golden-yellow to slightly reddish in colour, the chosen pears are de-stemmed, pitted and mashed. The mash is then left to rest before it goes into the still, where the distillation process is repeated up to three times in the usual Hafele distilling method. This allows for an exceptionally precise separation of the heart of the brandy from the head and the tail.
Aromatic pears from Hafele
The production process does not end here because the pear distillate now needs one thing to be able to develop perfectly: time. And it has plenty of it, stored in special stoneware containers – also called Hafele – in the cellar of our distillery. It is stored there for several years, repeatedly subjected to the scrutiny of expert noses and palates, before being diluted to drinking strength with the best spring water; only then is it bottled.
On the nose, the pear Hafele features a distinctive varietal character with a pure and particularly intense aroma. On the palate, the dense, fruity depth unfolds, accompanied by the characteristic aromatic spiciness of the Williams-Christ pears. The finish is elegant, long-lasting and fruity – a taste experience of the finest quality.
