- The Alpine Gold from Prinz
The Alpine Gold is a delightful apricot schnapps made from golden and finest apricots. The juicy fruits are carefully selected to capture the intense flavour of the apricots in the bottle.
The production process begins with the meticulous harvesting of ripe apricots. They are then washed, pitted, and crushed into mash which is carefully fermented at the perfect temperature of 16 - 18° C. The mash is then ready for the distillation process. We have access to state-of-the-art technology for distillation, and since 2004, we have been distilling under vacuum. The finished distillate of the Alpine Gold is then filled into large wooden barrels specially made for Prinz and aged for several years. During maturation in the wooden barrel, the apricot schnapps develops its characteristic taste and distinctive smoothness. The wooden barrel imparts additional flavors to the schnapps and allows for gentle oxidation, contributing to the development of complex flavor nuances. Throughout the aging process, the apricot aromas gradually take on the woody notes of the barrel, giving the schnapps its unique depth.
The perfected apricot schnapps impresses with its intense and characterful taste, combining the natural sweetness of the apricots with a hint of the wooden barrel. It is soft and smooth in the finish, making it enjoyable to drink. The golden colour of the schnapps reflects the sun-kissed apricots from which it is made. The Alpine Gold evokes a vacation in the Alps. Bring the holiday feeling home and enjoy a fine sip from Vorarlberg.
The interplay of technical innovations, combined with the know-how from four generations and a conscious responsibility for enjoyment, results in the unique taste of the Alpine Gold from Prinz.
