The best fruits for maximum taste
Fully ripe, juicy apricots from the best growing areas are the raw material for our popular Hausschnaps Apricot Schnapps. During the main harvest season in July, we have our hands full at our Prinz Obsthof, making sure that the fruits are prepared as quickly as possible. First, we check them by looking and feeling for their quality before they are de-stemmed, pitted, and finally mashed. After fermentation, they go into the still.
Gently distilled
In a traditional fine distillation process, our master distillers produce a distillate that retains the full flavour of this golden-yellow fruit. It takes a lot of skill and experience to preserve the delicate aroma of the apricot in the best possible way. Then the distillate has plenty of time to mature further in stoneware vessels before we use it to make schnapps fans‘ absolute favourite – Hausi.
The Prinz original with a characteristic flavour
The fine aromas reveal themselves particularly well in a full-bodied Prinz Schnapps Glass. On the nose, it‘s delicate and fruity with fine, almost flowery notes; on the palate, you‘ll enjoy a full-bodied taste of sun-ripened apricots that lingers long after the smooth finish. Indeed, Hausi is a schnapps that is truly a pleasure to drink. In summer or winter, at a social gathering or cosily at home – with this original from Prinz, a good mood is guaranteed!
