The Elderberry Schnapps from Austria
Most people are familiar with the lovely scent of elderberry blossoms in spring. If you resist the temptation to pick all the flowers, which make an excellent juice or liqueur, you can enjoy the special berries in autumn. The fully ripe black fruits can usually be harvested from September onwards, and we use them in our distillery to produce an extremely aromatic distillate.
Matured for several years in stoneware and glass balloons, our delicious Elderberry Schnapps is created from this distillate. The aroma is intense, with sweet notes reminiscent of the smell of blossoms. On the palate, it captivates with its typical, finely spicy flavour – an excellent digestif!
Enjoyment recommendation: Enjoy Elderberry Schnapps in a Schnapps Glass at a temperature of between 17 and 20 °C.
